Rug Doctor, LLC manufactures, sells, and services carpet cleaning products and machines for the professional and do-it-yourself carpet cleaning markets. The company also provides its products on rental basis. It offers its products through grocery, drug, hardware, and home center stores throughout the United States as well as internationally.
Rug Doctor team faced difficulties when routing service technicians in the field to its stores. The company ran static routing plans sending service technicians to stores regardless if they needed services or not. The lack of visibility to customer demand at the store level caused technicians to visit stores that didn't need product or service while other stores would experience stock-outs and service needs long before a scheduled visit.
