Manufacturer to Share Supply Chain Best Practices
CHICAGO – April 28, 2009 – John Galt Solutions announced today that Bayer CropScience will speak at the Institute of Business Forecasting (IBF) Demand Planning & Forecasting Conference, April 28 – May 1, 2009 at The Palms Hotel in Las Vegas.

As the head of Consumer Forecasting at Bayer CropScience, Curtis Brewer leads the forecasting efforts and facilitates the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process for the Consumer Products group. His supply chain planning team leverages John Galt Solutions’Atlas Planning Suite to control supply chain costs while improving customer service with superior forecasting and inventory management.
The consumer forecasting team at Bayer CropScience gathers Point of Sale (POS) and other consumer data from channel sales and category marketing to generate an 18 month unit forecast. Then they convert this unit forecast into a financial forecast for use in the financial planning for the business. Finally, they work with the production planning group to generate a demand plan that will insure a 99% fill rate, and procurement to insure appropriate information is available for component price negotiations and advance purchasing.
Curtis holds a Bachelor of Science in Operations Management from North Carolina State University, a Masters of Business Administration in Supply Chain Management from Auburn University, and is a Certified Professional Forecaster. In addition to his involvement with IBF, Curtis is also a past president of the Triangle Chapter of APICS and holds both CPIM and CSCP designations.
